Situated in front of the Fieldhouse, the lighted Plattsburgh State Soccer/Lacrosse Complex has a synthetic field constructed in 2004 by A-Turf of Cheektowaga, N.Y., that can dissipate up to 3 inches of rain per hour, allowing for excellent drainage. The state of-the-art field has a sand and rubber mixture, topped with plastic blades of grass, providing consistent playability, superior durability and traction.
In the summer of 2014, the complex received an upgraded turf playing surface as well as new benches, a new scoreboard and ball retention nets.Â
A pressbox provides seating for a public address announcer, scoreboard operator, statistician and music engineer, as well as space for videographers on top of the roof.
Seating capacity is for 500 spectators, and the surrounding grounds allow for standing-room-only for a total of 1,000 to see soccer and lacrosse games at the Fieldhouse Complex. Visiting and home soccer teams have glass-covered awnings for their team bench. The facility has hosted conference and NCAA tournament soccer games.
Men's Soccer drew over 1,900 fans to three NCAA tournament games played here in 2005, including a season-high 737 that witnessed a 1-0 Cardinals win over Western New England to put them in the Division III Northeast Regional Finals. The Cardinals have traditionally led SUNYAC and are among NCAA leaders in annual attendance.
Men's Lacrosse hosted its first ever SUNYAC home playoff game on May 1, 2013. The Cardinals defeated Brockport 15-7 to continue play in the SUNYAC Tournament.
