With the five individuals of the 2015 class, that will bring the total to 99 Cardinal athletes enshrined into the Plattsburgh State Athletic Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was established in 1984 to honor the accomplishments of former student-athletes as well as the contributions of administrators, coaches and friends to Plattsburgh State Athletics.

Below is a short description of each of the following 2015 inductee's career accolades:

Pierre Brunet '82 (men's hockey)
Along with Doug Kimura, Gaetan D'Anjou and Rick Young, Pierre Brunet comprised exactly one-fourth of the future Hall of Fame quartet rolled out on a regular basis by the Cardinals in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Through the course of his three-year career, Pierre notched 78 goals which still stands as the ninth-highest career total in the Cardinals' record books. A two-time All-SUNYAC selection, Pierre helped lead Plattsburgh State to a 74-26-6 mark and a pair of appearances in the NCAA Division II Final Four. Following the 1980-81 national tournament, Pierre was placed on the NCAA All-Tournament Team. Other accolades for Pierre included NYCHA Second Team All-Star and ECAC DII West Second Team All-Star in 1979-80 and ECAC DII All-Tournament Team MVP in 1980-81.

Rick Young '82 (men's hockey)
An offensive-minded blueliner, Rick Young joined forces with future Hall of Famers Pierre Brunet, Gaetan D'Anjou and Doug Kimura to form one of the more memorable quartets ever put on ice by the Plattsburgh State men's ice hockey team. Through the course of his four-year career, which spanned from 1978-82, Rick totaled 133 points which is the second-highest figure ever by any Cardinal defenseman. One of six individuals who was selected to comprise the Cardinals' 1975-84 All-Decade Team, Rick was a three-time All-SUNYAC performer and carved out a spot for himself as an ECAC West Second Team All-Star in the 1980-81 campaign and helped lead the Cardinals to a pair of NCAA Division II Final Fours.

Elizabeth Gibson '05 (women's hockey)
Not only did Elizabeth Gibson help mold the Plattsburgh State women's hockey program from an NCAA newcomer to a national power, she did so by submitting a career which few Cardinals who followed in her footsteps have been able to replicate. Elizabeth owns an astounding 11 Plattsburgh State program records including career goals (120), career assists (106) and career points (226). A two-time AHCA All-American, Elizabeth became the first player in program history to be named a four-time All-ECAC West First Team performer. In addition to those laurels Elizabeth also hauled in citations for 2001-02 Rookie of the Year, 2003-04 Player of the Year and 2004-05 Co-Player of the Year.

Brian McGrane '05 (men's soccer)
All Brian McGrane did while stationed in the midfield for the Plattsburgh State men's soccer team from 1999-2002 was produce a career which has been unrivaled by the vast majority of players in the program's storied history. A four-time choice to both the All-SUNYAC First Team and the NSCAA All-Region First Team, Brian amassed 72 points (27 goals, 22 assists) and helped lead the Cardinals to a mark of 62-19-5 during his playing days. Under the on-field leadership of McGrane, the Cardinals laid claim to a pair of SUNYAC Tournament crowns and made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament. He became the tenth player in the history of the program to earn All-American Honors when the NSCAA placed him on the Third Team following the 2001 campaign.

Erin O'Brien '05 (women's hockey)
Each and every individual who has comprised the corps of Plattsburgh State women's hockey blueliners following the departure of Erin O'Brien has had the difficult task of trying to match up with a career which stands as one of the greatest ever. A four-time All-ECAC West First Team selection, Erin amassed 26 goals and 59 assists for 85 points – the highest career total by a defenseman at the time of her graduation. Since then, only two players have surpassed the mark set by the two-time AHCA All-American.
