The Cardinals return 16 players, including eight starters, off last year's 10-6-3 squad that gained an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship largely to a stellar won-lost record against Top 25 opponents. Plattsburgh itself enjoyed life in the national rankings--at No. 11 by D3soccer.com--at one point during the 2009 campaign.
Plattsburgh has its season opener later tonight at Skidmore. The team has its first home game on Sep. 18 against Castleton State.
