Iwamoto Joins Plattsburgh State Athletic Training Staff
Canisius College graduate comes from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.--The Plattsburgh State Athletics Department has named Mizue Iwamoto to the Cardinals sports medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer.
Iwamoto comes to Plattsburgh after working the last academic year at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, where she provided direct coverage for football, women’s basketball and women’s lacrosse while providing daily treatment and rehabilitation for all 23 Red Hawk athletic programs. She also assisted in the organization and maintenance of the athletic training room.
A 2008 Canisius College graduate with a degree in athletic training/sport medicine, she received a Master of Science in Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania a year later.
Iwamoto holds memberships from National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association and National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Iwamoto is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She also is endorsed by the Board of Certification, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the National Association of Speed and Explosion and American Heart Association.
In addition, she's fulfilled internships at several high schools and various special events.
