GLOUCESTER, Mass.- The Plattsburgh State women's hockey program led the nation with three All-Americans on the 2009-10 RBK/American College Hockey Association team for NCAA Division III. Senior co-captain Stephanie Moberg made the first unit at forward and juniors Kara Buehler, a defenseman, and Mandy Mackrell, a goalie, were picked for the second team. Click Here for Complete NCAA Division III All-America Team

Moberg, a left wing from Saratoga Springs, N.Y. (Northwood School), was one of two forwards and four skaters overall to repeat on the first team from last season. The Eastern College Athletic Conference West Division Player of the Year and two-time all-conference first team selection was also a finalist for the college division player of the year. Moberg ranked third nationally in scoring with 43 points on 25 goals and 18 assists--producing career highs for the two former statistical figures. She leaves as one of the most prolific scorers in school history: fifth with 133 points, fifth with 59 goals, fifth with 74 assists and second with 17 game-winning goals.

Buehler, of Skaneateles, N.Y., set a career high with 19 assists (19 points) to lead all ECAC West blueliners while making all-conference for the first time in her career. The first-time All-American had 12 points for her first two years combined. She helped anchor a Cardinals defense that ranked first in ECAC-West and fifth in NCAA III in scoring defense with 1.43 goals per game.

The ECAC West Goaltender of the Year, Mackrell (Cleveland, Ohio) also earned first-team all-conference honors in her first year as a starter and becomes the first Cardinal goalie since Bree Doyle in 2007 to be named an All-American.  She posted a 17-3-2 record (.818) with a 1.49 goals-against average and .931 save percentage.  Her 447 saves ranks second on the all-time single-season chart at Plattsburgh.

The three All-America citations ties a school record and brings the number of Cardinals honored to 19 since the program was founded for the 2001-02 season.
